In 2022 Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust founder Steve Saka commissioned a team of 4 Nicaraguan Artisans in San Juan de Limay to sculpt these drop dead gorgeous ashtrays from a locally quarried type of Soapstone called "Marmolina."
All of the work is done by hand. Literally machetes, chisels and buffing cloths - it really is a sight to behold and here is quick snapshot video showing one of them at work with his machete.
Measuring roughly 12" in length, each is unique from the shape, color and weight, but every single one is simply stunning and a unique piece of a tobacco leaf form. Packaged in a beautiful wooden box, this is a collector's item.
