The Las Calaveras EL 2021 marks the first time that the blend will feature an Ecuadorian Sumatra (Oscuro) wrapper; in fact, this will be the first time that a Crowned Heads cigar manufactured by My Father Cigars will feature a Sumatra wrapper. The result is a taste profile that is exteremely unique and groundbreaking to the Las Calaveras series. The dark-chocolate Sumatra oscuro wrapper completes a blend of Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, and provides a flavor profile that is characterized by notes of earth, spice, and espresso beans with subtle floral undertones. A total of 1,250 boxes of each of the three vitolas (90,000 cigars) of Las Calaveras 2021 were produced at My Father Cigars, S.A. factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. An additional 1,750 samplers were produced featuring one of each of the 3 vitolas, along with a sampler-exclusive petite lancero (measuring 6.5x40). Each 24ct box of Las Calaveras is packed with 3 rows of 8 cigars. The three rows represent the life's cycles of a beginning, middle, and end. In biblical terms, the number "8" signifies new beginnings, and in mathematical terms an "8" laid on its side symbolizes "infinity", as in eternal life. Released August 2021.
